At a minimum, the ABS must 'know' what speed all the wheels are and has the ability to control the braking wheel by wheel. It will try to adjust according to speed of each wheel. It may be you have a bad wheel bearing as that was my expirance in my '09. It effected the traction control/stabilitrax sensor possibly draining battery.
